Load Bearing Ceiling Planks are fabricated by way of nominal 2x1mm hot dipped galvanized steel skin as per JISG 3302/94. Light chromated zero spangle with zinc coating 120 gms/m2 is insulated and bonded with infill of honeycomb paper core/ mineral wool forming a rigid 80mm thick panel to nominal size as required. Length is 3000-6000 mm. Modular standard width is 800mm. Upper surface is suitably stiffened to allow personal access over the entire surface.

The unique design of the ceiling allows the additional advantage of being able to incorporate flush light fittings, air-conditioning filters, grills, diffusers and other ceiling-mounted equipment, all fitted within accurately CNC-punched apertures. The unique design enables the structure to stand free of any support (box within a box) from the existing building/ structure.

Design Criteria
  • Truss frame and its poses
  • Connection piece of adjacent roof panels
  • Wall panel and connection to roof
  • Roof panel is 6000mm x 800mm x 80mm (LxWxH)
  • Wall panel is 3000mm x 1120mm x 80mm (HxWxD
  • Each roof panel is designed to withstand concentrated load of 150kg (corresponding to 2 persons)
  • Self weight of roof panel (6000mm x 800mm) is conservatively taken
    as 30 kg/m2
  • Truss is designed for a maximum span between posts of 14m loaded to withstand the self weight of as many roof panels as are required to accommodate the span and a 150kg concentrated load anywhere on the panels.

STANDARD
The calculated stress values were compared to the allowable stresses given by the Manual of Steel Construction, AISC-ASD 9th Edition and B56399:1984 guidelines.
